The first few days and weeks of school can be rough. We all have to get back into going to sleep earlier, waking up earlier, doing homework and studying for tests. Once we get back into our school routine, it soon becomes the norm.
One of the may great things about coming back to school is seeing all your friends at school and it’s always wonderful to see and spend time with them everyday.
During the first few weeks you get introduced to the new teachers who will be teaching you and you might, hopefully, make new friends with the new learners. Every grade experiences something new and have changes from their previous grade. The new grade 1 students are now part of the primary school. The grade 4 students start to write exams. The grade 7 students are now part of the high school and the grade 12 students are at the top of the school. We all experience changes when going to a new grade. Change is a part of life.
Kathstan makes it easier to get back into school because the school provides a homely feeling. You feel welcome and wanted. The first couple of weeks are rough, but without all the friendliness that Kathstan offers, it would be much harder.
We will all get through the first few weeks. All we have to do is work hard and carry on working hard because this is just the beginning.
The year 2017 is said to be the best year yet, as for students it’s a new start in a new grade, this can be very daunting for some especially the new students that start a new school. Here at Kathstan it didn’t take long for the new pupils to make friends and get used to the way the school works.
The first few weeks of grade 11 has been busy. The fact that you only have two years of school left haunts you, just about every day. The demands of homework and assignments being handed in becomes greater and greater. Your grade 11 marks has a big impact on your future if you intend studying at an university. Being back at school is a great feeling for most students, because you get to see your friends again. I think that some of us can agree that the holiday was far too short. A lot of things in Kathstan College are changing for the good as the school can grow and be know for it’s excellence and dedicated teachers.
The work and dedication for raising funds to pay for our matric farewell started on the first day grade 11. The first function that we have to prepare for is Valentine’s day, about a month from the day we started school. Grade 11 is also the year to prove to teachers and students that you are worthy of becoming a councillor. Not only should you prove to teachers and students, but also to yourself. Grade 11 seems to be enjoyable and frightening at the same time.
The advise I can give to lower grades is that you should start working from the beginning of the year. Don’t leave it until it is too late and you should take every opportunity to ask questions, otherwise you will fall behind with your work.
