The year 2017 is said to be the best year yet, as for students it’s a new start in a new grade, this can be very daunting for some especially the new students that start a new school. Here at Kathstan it didn’t take long for the new pupils to make friends and get used to the way the school works.
The first few weeks of grade 11 has been busy. The fact that you only have two years of school left haunts you, just about every day. The demands of homework and assignments being handed in becomes greater and greater. Your grade 11 marks has a big impact on your future if you intend studying at an university. Being back at school is a great feeling for most students, because you get to see your friends again. I think that some of us can agree that the holiday was far too short. A lot of things in Kathstan College are changing for the good as the school can grow and be know for it’s excellence and dedicated teachers.
The work and dedication for raising funds to pay for our matric farewell started on the first day grade 11. The first function that we have to prepare for is Valentine’s day, about a month from the day we started school. Grade 11 is also the year to prove to teachers and students that you are worthy of becoming a councillor. Not only should you prove to teachers and students, but also to yourself. Grade 11 seems to be enjoyable and frightening at the same time.
The advise I can give to lower grades is that you should start working from the beginning of the year. Don’t leave it until it is too late and you should take every opportunity to ask questions, otherwise you will fall behind with your work.
Grade 11 is your year to shine!
